The grace of a train having to go slow
The turning of turbines, ten in a row
The rain’s net curtain over there in the distance
And one field lit up by the sun
Breathing in, breathing out
None of this is said out loud
That’s the size of my love for you
That’s a world we have made
From one and one to two
The skeleton fingers of trees making circles
Plane lines of winter skies uncurling like tendrils
Hot tea on cold mornings, warm bed at the dawning
Hopeless to get out of bed
Oh the things that we say
Only to each other
That turned a friend into a lover

Martin is one of the finest steel string finger style guitarists on the planet as well as a great singer. Simply beautiful heart felt music and I highly recommend exploring his vast catalogue. Dan Ferguson

Thanks for the beautiful music Karine and Dave. it's been a while since I've felt so emotional listening to a new album. Every lyric is so beautifully supported by the piano parts. Laura-Beth Salter

Keening, yearning, captivating and lovely collection of songs, the sense of close performance all the more remarkable when you learn it was made during Covid lockdown in 2020. The ballads and poems set to music on this album might be hundreds of years old, and while they do have an air of immortal, ancient tradition about them, they sound utterly current. Badzie
